Dr. Lenese M. Colson is the Interim Department Head and an Associate Professor in the Department of Library and Information Studies at Valdosta State University, where she has been a faculty member since 2019. She spent many years as a public librarian, was a research fellow for the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) CLASS II project and taught at Florida State University and Old Dominion University. Her research interests include exploring the information needs of the underrepresented and underserved and best practices in eLearning for graduate education. In addition to a M.S. in Library and Information Studies and a Ph.D. in Information from Florida State University, Dr. Colson holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Norfolk State University and an M.A.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
